About Chickapee's Cupcakes

So my name is Ashley Jantz and i am trying a new project over summer vacation. The last day of school was yesterday (june 11th 2010) and I am making -what i like to think- extreme cupcakes. I got the idea from a cookbook called Hello, Cupcake and the sequal What's New Cupcake (authors: Karen Tack & Alan Richardson). My idea is to make all these awsome cupcakes and sell them or just give them away to people. There are 116 cupcake designs and i am determined to make every one of them. I am going to give them to relatives and friends for birthdays, holidays, or just cuz. So if you know me just call and i will hook u up! And another thing I am excited about is making cupcakes and giving them to charities or childresns hospitals ect. But i will have to get some practice first, becuase that's alot of pressure. lol

Candy Stars and Stripes Forever

This was really easy. i was surprised! the real recipe was to makes mini cupcakes on top of the big ones but i thought that would be to much of a hassle and too many cupcakes. i mean it already calles for 48 regular cupcakes! we had a party on the fourth and it was a blast! absolutely no alcohal wich was a plus. then some people went home and we had fireworks. so much fun! i got to meet my brothers soon to be in laws. they were really cool. i still can't believe all three of my brothers and sister are having babbies! and all around the same time. well i didnt want to take the cupcakes out too soon in the heat becuase it was 100 degrese here in Clovis so i left them in the fridge until it was time to show em off. but then after some people went home and it got dark even after the fireworks i was like OMG i forgot the cupcakes! so i got them out and everyone loved them. of coarse ha. they were scrumpcious. and we still have leftovers like always. thanx for reading see you next cupcake!

An Apple A day

So i know i haven't posted anything in a while, but I've been really busy with independent summer school. anyways, the last cupcake i made was the apples! So it was really easy..... Well it would have been if i had all i needed. Because i didn't have enough coloring or sprinkles. So i made chocolate cupcakes this time and i put a mini doughnut on top then frosted them with red coloring and sprinkles. then i added a tootsie roll and an airhead for the stem and leaf. They are really yummy. but they have been sitting in the fridge all this time, uncovered so now they are kinda hard and malted at the same time ha ha. i think i prefer vanilla i just found out. so I'm making this kinda short because i have nothing else to say i mean its not like i passed out or anything.... like that would happen. ha....-.- k till next cupcake!

Bake Sale Pies

Ok so today i made the pie cupcakes. They turned out pretty good
considering the thing i went through! First, i put the batter in a
ziplock bag to put it in the little cups becuace thats what the book
told me to do. So i did it and it ended up on the floor and everything
else in a 5 foot radius. So i mananged to scrape up as much as i could
from places i knew were clean and safe to eat from. So the outcome of
that waz that all my cupcakes came out mini! Exept for one wich is the
one everyone wanted. NOTTT. So as i was decorating them i started to
feel dizzy and i got a headake and my whole body turned numb! Then i
started hearing a high pitch ringing noise. I was able to call out to
my mom by the time i couldnt hear anything or even breath. I felt like
i was gonna pass out! It was the scarriest thing in my whole life! Not
even joking. So i rested for about two hours and went back to
decorating again. And as i was piping with my awsome piping skillz...
My ziplock bag i waz using as a piping bag exploded! Again! All my
iceing was pouring out of like five different wholes! So i only had
about five cupcakes left when it got to the brunt of the whole
catastrafy. And i hurried and finished every pie, licking my way
through the gushing iceing- wich i flavored and turned the color to
the perfect color without ant dye! And it tasted pretty good- so over
all they are some pretty awsome pies\cupcakes. But i still need to get
rid of some of the aliens from the previous batch and these too. So if
u know me call me and i'll hook you up! Thanx for reading see you next
cupcake!

Alien Invasion

Today is the first day of the cupcake challenge. I am tempting to make all of the cupcakes in two new cookbooks I bought at Sur La Table in River Park. They are called Hello, Cupcake and What's New, Cupcake? The authors are Karen Tack and Alan Richardson. there is a total of 116 cupcake designs. So for the first one I tried the Alien Invasion. for the first extreme cupcake, it was pretty easy. They aren't the neatest, or prettiest aliens in the world but not bad for the first batch. Some of them have four eyes lol. Well I'm proud of these aliens. They are like my little babies ready to be eaten haha.
